While we focus on precision for every client, no industry is quite as demanding or exacting as aerospace. Custom parts from exotic alloys like Inconel, Hastelloy, Waspaloy or titanium are in common demand and it takes uncommon experience to form them properly. At Header we specialize in unique materials and can work with anything from common to exotic, such as carbide from 6-30% cobalt and any tool steel as well.
Whether hot- or cold-forming, Header Die & Tool has the experience, understanding and technical expertise to manufacture aerospace tooling.
When you need double-hex or twelve-point tooling, you’ve come to the right place. At Header, we will match your standards and specifications for surface finishes and the uniform or consistent radius that provides the twelve-point tools with proper performance metrics. And our tools are engineered and designed for toughness and precision performance to guard against premature breakage.
Some aerospace parts are quite large or long, and the materials used for forming demand a lot out of the tooling. In the past, we have customers that get just 40 parts out of a die, on the low end. “If we can manufacture a die that gets our customer even five or ten more parts per die, that’s a significant percentage increase and cost savings for the customer over the course of a production run,” says Lucas Derry, Header President. “And we have done just that.”
Header craftsmen build tools that hit all the tolerances. And we make our parts to maximize lifespan, for greater machine uptime and less scrap. If a tool is out of spec or breaks, that means the parts formed are wasted. Time is lost sorting good parts from bad. Worse yet a company might lose a client due to part rejects. We understand that and we do our best to help prevent rejected and wasted parts. Let us become your partner for tool and die work and we’ll help get your aerospace business off the ground.
