What You’ll Do

• Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and specifications
• Set up and operate CNC lathes
• Use and modify Mazatrol and/or G- & M-code programs
• Monitor machines, adjust offsets, and maintain consistent quality
• Perform in-process inspections and document results
• Troubleshoot issues and communicate with leads and teammates
• Contribute ideas that improve processes, safety, and efficiency
• Maintain clean machines and organized work areas
• Follow safety and quality standards — and help improve them when needed

What You Bring

• Proven CNC lathe machining experience
• Ability to independently set up and run jobs
• Programming experience using Mazatrol or G- & M-code
• Blueprint reading and tolerance interpretation
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and pride in workmanship
• Reliable attendance and punctuality
• Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
• Willing to ask questions, share ideas, and take ownership

Experience with Mazak Integrex machines is a plus.

Toolmaker (Experienced)

Are you an experienced Toolmaker who takes pride in precision craftsmanship and solving complex problems? Header Die & Tool is hiring skilled Toolmakers who can independently design, build, troubleshoot, and improve high-precision tooling.

What You’ll Do

• Design, fabricate, and repair precision tools, dies, and fixtures according to specifications
• Study blueprints to determine materials required and machines needed to manufacture carbide inserts and die assemblies
• Compute dimensions and determine die assembly methods and sequence of operations when not stated on routing
• Set up and operate manual machine tools including lathes, extrude hones, OD/ID grinders, surface grinders, and reamer grinders
• Perform grinding and polishing of carbide components to ensure precision tolerances and proper surface finishes
• Verify dimensions using micrometers, dial indicators, comparators, and other measuring instruments
• Inspect completed work using appropriate inspection methods based on part complexity
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and contribute to process improvements
• Maintain clean machines and organized work areas
• Follow safety and quality standards — and help improve them when needed
• Contribute to a clean, safe, and team-oriented work environment
• Any/all duties as assigned

CNC Lead Machinist

Are you a CNC machinist who enjoys leading a team, solving problems, and helping others grow? Header Die & Tool is hiring a CNC Lead Machinist to help guide our machining team while still staying hands-on with programming, setup, and production support.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, communicates clearly, and enjoys mentoring other machinists. We’re looking for a leader who takes ownership of the department’s performance and actively helps others develop their skills. Our machining leads play a critical role in keeping production running smoothly, while helping the team improve every day.

What You’ll Do

• Lead, train, and mentor machinists in machining techniques, machine setup, and shop standards
• Program, set up, and operate CNC lathes and manual machines as needed
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications
• Plan and coordinate daily workflow to support production goals
• Monitor machining operations to ensure efficiency, quality, and adherence to specifications
• Troubleshoot machining issues and provide technical guidance to team members
• Assist with complex setups, programming adjustments, and process improvements
• Verify part accuracy using precision measuring instruments and inspection methods
• Maintain machines, tools, and equipment to ensure safe and reliable operation

What You Bring

• 3+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environment
